Empowering Waste Pickers Nationwide: WAPAN’s Data Collection and Registration Training in Kano State

We are thrilled to share an exciting update from Kano State, where our dedicated team of enumerators is gearing up to launch the registration and data collection process for members of the Waste Pickers Association of Nigeria (WAPAN). This pivotal step marks a significant milestone in our mission to empower waste pickers across Nigeria.

The training in Kano State is part of a broader effort that has already seen successful sessions conducted in Lagos State, Ogun State, Rivers State, and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Our commitment to reaching all 36 states of Nigeria is unwavering, and the training is being led by the diligent efforts of ALIYU AUWAL and the Waste Pickers Association of Nigeria (WAPAN) ICT team.

Why This Training Matters

Data is a powerful tool for driving positive change, and through this comprehensive registration process, we aim to provide our members with the support and recognition they deserve. By accurately documenting the contributions of waste pickers, we can ensure they receive the resources, training, and opportunities needed to enhance their livelihoods and continue their essential work in promoting sustainable waste management practices.

Join Us in Shaping a Brighter Future

If you’re a waste picker or know someone who is, now is the time to get involved. Contact your state chairman or visit WAPAN Registration to register. You can become a member and join us in our collective effort to #actnow for a more sustainable and inclusive future.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this impactful journey, one state at a time! Together, we are building a stronger, more resilient community for waste pickers across Nigeria.
